Electron Beam (EB) Welding is an excellent choice for applications containing refractory alloys and dissimilar materials. Advantages of EB Welding technology include a high power density with very low overall heat input and, therefore, minimum distortion. EB welded parts require a minimum of post-weld machining and heat treatment, and, unlike other fusion welding processes, EB requires no shielding gases. The weld quality is exceptional and the process is extremely efficient (typically 95%), carefully controlled and fully automated.
Sciaky’s EB technology is suitable for a huge variety of applications in aerospace, oil and gas, mining and transportation like superconducting cavities for high energy physics, aircraft engine cases & assemblies, military aircraft components & structures, rock-bit assemblies and tank tubes for petroleum, mining diaphragm assemblies for power generation, transmission gears for automobiles, trucks, and off-highway vehicles.
Sciaky offers the widest range of EB welding systems and the EB welding systems with the largest work envelope in the industry.
Large and medium vacuum chamber electron beam welding systems with state-of-the-art internal moving guns. Low voltage and high power suited for large and medium scale parts. High precision and repeatability.
Standard designs are available, and custom engineered solutions are often created to meet customer requirements.
Sciaky, through its partnership with EVOBEAM GmbH of Germany, now sells and supports advanced Rapid Cycle EB welding systems manufactured by EVOBEAM. These systems utilize low voltage and low power, and are ideally suited for rapid production of small-scale parts can be configured for manual single part flow or adapted with automated high-volume part handling equipment.
